I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Connecticut with over 20 years of experience as a psychotherapist. My professional journey has taken me across a wide range of settings—including community agencies, medical systems, and schools—where I’ve had the privilege of supporting individuals through life’s most complex and painful challenges.
Over the course of my career, I have devoted myself to the study and practice of somatic psychotherapy, trauma treatment, and attachment theory. These guiding frameworks inform my approach and allow me to support clients in a way that honors both the emotional and physiological impact of trauma.
My work centers on helping adults deepen their self-awareness, identify what may be blocking their growth, and safely explore the root causes of those blocks. I create a therapeutic space where you can go deeper—at your own pace and with the right support. Healing is not just about symptom relief; it’s about reconnecting with yourself, your body, and your sense of agency.
I am committed to providing inclusive, affirming care. I welcome individuals of all ethnic, racial, and cultural backgrounds, along with members of the LGBTQ+ community.
Whether you’re seeking healing from trauma, navigating life transitions, or simply yearning for a more authentic connection to yourself, I’m here to walk alongside you.
Let’s begin the work together.
I offer evidence-based, trauma-informed therapies including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Somatic-based approaches, which help the body and mind process trauma in a way that brings lasting relief and renewed inner strength.
Together, we’ll work at a pace that feels safe, helping you reconnect with yourself, build resilience, and move toward a more grounded, empowered life.
This is your time to heal. When you’re ready, I’m here to walk with you.

Somatic Experiencing Therapy
Healing Trauma Through the Wisdom of the Body
Somatic Experiencing (SE) is a body-oriented approach to healing trauma and chronic stress. Developed by Dr. Peter Levine, SE is based on the understanding that trauma is not just a psychological experience—it also lives in the body.
Unlike traditional talk therapy, which focuses primarily on thoughts and emotions, Somatic Experiencing works gently with the nervous system to help restore balance, release trauma-related tension, and support the body’s natural ability to heal.
How Somatic Experiencing Works
Trauma can overwhelm the nervous system, leaving the body in a prolonged state of fight, flight, or freeze. Over time, this can lead to symptoms like anxiety, chronic tension, emotional numbness, hypervigilance, or a feeling of being “stuck.”
In Somatic Experiencing, we slow down and attune to the body’s subtle signals—tracking sensations, breath, movement, and internal responses. Through this process, we begin to discharge unresolved survival energy and support the body in completing what it couldn’t during the original overwhelming experience.
This work is gentle, titrated, and client-centered, meaning we go at your pace and focus on building safety and resilience first.
What Somatic Experiencing Can Help
With:
-
Trauma (including developmental, medical, and shock trauma)
-
PTSD and Complex PTSD
-
Anxiety and panic
-
Chronic stress or burnout
-
Physical symptoms with no clear medical cause
-
Emotional dysregulation
-
Feeling disconnected from the body or emotions
A Safe Place to Come Home to Yourself
In our work together, I’ll guide you in developing deeper self-awareness and attunement to your body’s cues. This can open up new pathways to healing, insight, and emotional regulation—not through force or analysis, but by helping your body do what it naturally knows how to do: find balance and restore safety.
Somatic therapy offers a powerful invitation to come home to yourself—to feel grounded, present, and alive again.

EMDR Therapy
Reprocess Trauma. Reclaim Your Life.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based psychotherapy approach that helps people heal from the emotional and physiological effects of trauma. It is recognized by organizations such as the American Psychological Association and the World Health Organization as an effective treatment for PTSD and other trauma-related conditions.
At its core, EMDR helps the brain reprocess distressing memories so they no longer feel overwhelming or stuck. Rather than focusing on talking through the traumatic experience in detail, EMDR uses bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements, sounds, or tapping) to support the brain’s natural healing process.
How EMDR Works
Trauma can disrupt the brain’s ability to process experiences normally, leaving painful memories “frozen in time.” These unprocessed memories can continue to cause distress in the form of flashbacks, anxiety, emotional reactivity, or negative self-beliefs.
During EMDR therapy, we identify a specific memory or issue that feels unresolved. Through a structured, 8-phase approach—including preparation, resourcing, and reprocessing—we activate the brain’s natural ability to integrate and heal. The memory becomes less charged, and your emotional response shifts in a meaningful and lasting way.
Many clients report feeling lighter, more grounded, and no longer “stuck” in the past.
EMDR Can Help With:
-
PTSD and Complex PTSD
-
Childhood or developmental trauma
-
Anxiety and panic attacks
-
Grief and loss
-
Negative self-beliefs (“I’m not enough,” “I’m not safe,” etc.)
-
Medical or surgical trauma
-
Emotional abuse or neglect
-
Life transitions and relationship wounds
A Trauma-Informed, Safe Approach
As a trauma specialist with over 20 years of clinical experience, I offer EMDR in a way that is attuned to your unique needs. We will move at a pace that supports your sense of safety and regulation. You will never be pushed to relive trauma—you’ll be guided with care and collaboration every step of the way.
EMDR can be transformative. It’s not just about symptom relief—it’s about helping you feel whole, capable, and empowered again.

IFS Therapy
Healing Begins Within
Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy is a powerful, evidence-based approach that helps individuals heal emotional wounds by exploring the different “parts” of themselves. Developed by Dr. Richard Schwartz, IFS is based on the understanding that we all have an internal system made up of different parts—each with its own voice, emotion, and purpose.
IFS offers a compassionate and non-pathologizing way to understand the complexity of human experience. It’s especially effective for trauma, as it gently guides us toward inner harmony without retraumatization.
What Is IFS Therapy?
Rather than seeing symptoms or behaviors as problems to eliminate, IFS views them as protective responses—parts of us that developed to help us survive pain, trauma, or neglect. These parts may take on roles such as the inner critic, the people-pleaser, the avoider, or the perfectionist.
IFS therapy helps us:
-
Identify and connect with these parts
-
Understand their intentions and fears
-
Build a relationship with them from the perspective of the core Self—the calm, compassionate, centered aspect within all of us
Healing occurs when we listen to these parts, help them release burdens they’ve carried for too long, and restore balance within the system.
IFS Can Support You With:
-
Trauma and Complex PTSD
-
Anxiety and self-doubt
-
Inner criticism and shame
-
Emotional dysregulation
-
Relationship struggles
-
Feeling stuck, fragmented, or overwhelmed
-
Grief, anger, or suppressed emotions
A Compassionate Path Toward
Wholeness
IFS invites you to turn inward—not to relive trauma, but to listen to the parts of you that have been working hard to keep you safe. My role is to support you in navigating this inner world with curiosity and care, so you can begin to experience more ease, clarity, and emotional freedom.
IFS blends beautifully with the somatic and trauma-focused work I offer, supporting deep, sustainable healing at the pace that feels right for you.
If you’re ready to begin exploring your internal world with more understanding and compassion, I’m here to guide you.
