Hi! Iām Dr. Valerie Ogborn. A little bit about meā¦Iām a mama to a couple of kiddos, love to garden (when the AZ sun allows), kayak, hike the beautiful surrounding mountains, and do yoga. Iām a licensed clinical psychologist with my practice based out of Tucson, Arizona. I earned my Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Kansas in 2016 and have owned my own private practice since 2018. I see Arizona and Kansas clients virtually as well as clients in-person in my office in Tucson, AZ. I also see clients from any of the 42 PsycPact approved states. Check to see if your state is on this list:Ā https://psypact.gov/page/psypactmap.
I use various evidence-based therapy models to create a personalized treatment plan for all of my clients. I will often incorporate strategies from aĀ cognitive behavioral perspective (CBT). This means that we will explore how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence and interact with one another. We will look at ways to eventually change thoughts and behaviors to positively impact mood and anxiety. Additionally, I incorporateĀ breathing and mindfulness techniquesĀ to help facilitate growth and progress in psychotherapy.
Some disorders that I treat includeĀ generalized anxiety disorder, depression, panic disorder, phobias, obsessive compulsive spectrum disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder and insomnia.Ā
I also have a strong passion for working with women who are pregnant or postpartum (or really anywhere along their motherhood journey.) I earned my Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C) which is a specialized certification to work within this community of women. I treatĀ perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, OCD, birth trauma, grief/loss.
I also have specialized training inĀ health psychologyĀ which includes working with clients at the intersection of physical and mental health.Ā This may includeĀ stress, pain,Ā or other emotional difficulties associated with a range of medical illnesses..
Ā I would love to help you in your journey towards improved wellness. Please contact me with any questions!
